    Typhoon In-Fa, the sixth this year, made landfall in Zhoushan at around 12:30 PM on July 25.

    Ningbo was greatly affected by the typhoon, with continuous heavy rainfall in Haishu, Yuyao, among others. Many places were flooded, trains suspended, flights cancelled, and many people trapped as the city suffered from serious waterlogging. All departments in Ningbo responded actively and went all out to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

    'Mobile Clinic'

    Serves the Public

    In Gulin Town, Haishu District, where communities were squared by the flood, a kayaking "mobile clinic" with doctors in white uniform and medical kit on their shoulders dispensed medicine for the public. This is an emergency "mobile medical team" formed by the Gulin Town Health Center. Each team: one doctor and one nurse, boarded a kayak to visit four evacuation centers and to provide medical services.

    In the crowd for help, there were people with leg trauma, a just-one-month-old baby with a rash, and people who need to go to a large hospital for medical treatment. Doctors  examined people's blood pressure, checked their bodies, and dispensed medicines.

    In addition to medical services, people are also guaranteed basic living materials. The New Jiangxia Supermarket in Gulin Town was turned into a "floating supermarket", allowing people to buy bread, cake, instant noodles, drinks, mineral water, and other life supplies.

    Farmers in Zhenhai 

    Rush to Help Themselves

    In-Fa was also a huge damage to crops. To minimize the damage caused by the storm, farmers were quickly mobilized.

    At a flower base in Xiepu Town, due to heavy rainfall, 100 greenhouses were flooded one after another. By 11 AM on July 26, water level reached 10 cm in the lowlands. Many low potted plants had been immersed for 10 hours. A total of about 200,000 plants were affected. These flowers and plants would hardly survive if soaked for more than 24 hours. Hence, timely rescue is needed to reduce the loss of at least 100,000 yuan.

    At Fangbing farm at Lanshan village, farmers have been rushed to harvest 1,700 kg of fruits, such as white peach, yellow peach, etc. When the reporter arrived, they were packing goods. "Most of the ripe peaches picked in advance have been booked for sale, and the rest will be sold on livestream platforms," the head of the farm said.

    Ninghai Militia Rushes

    to Support Yuyao

    "We must prevent the flood from entering people's homes." At around 3 PM on July 26, the Qiaotouhu Street Militia Emergency Response Unit in Ninghai was busy carrying sandbags back and forth to prevent flooding in Yuyao.

    The typhoon left a large part of Yuyao flooded. In the morning of the same day, after receiving the order, 30 militias from Qiaotouhu Street Militia Emergency Response Unit were assembled and set out to support rescue and relief in the affected areas in Yuyao.

    After arrival, they joined the emergency work in the first time. Their task was to use sandbags to raise the walls of the village houses on both sides of the river. The team carried sandbags in the rain, covered in mud and water, but none of them complained.

    Drains Water from Roads

    The heavy rainfall brought by In-Fa flooded many roads in Fenghua. At 5 PM on July 25, Fenghua District Fire Rescue Team used remote drainage equipment to unload water from Huicheng South Road.

    The road was covered by 1.5 meters deep of water. If not handled in time, it would bring great danger to the public. According to fire department personnel, the remote drainage equipment they used can implement double trunk drainage. It could pump 200 cubic meters of water every minute from the road to rivers nearby. The new equipment worked so well that by 7 PM, the water level had dropped by nearly half a meter. Later by about 10:30 PM, that area was basically drained of water.
