Among the 7,795 offline exhibitors at this year's Canton Fair, Ningbo's stationery industry gained a lot of attention for its design and creativity.
Ningbo's stationery manufacturing industry has a domestic share of 33% and 25% in the international market. Some of the leading names, such as Deli, Guangbo and Beifa, are also owners of forefront core technologies and brand reputation in China.
"This pen just won the current Canton Fair Export Product Design Award (CF Award). The modeling is exquisite and compact. The cap and pen body will automatically adsorb, and can also be used as a refrigerator sticker," said Fan Jing, General Manager of Ningbo Zhaosheng Stationery.
The AITOP smart notebook launched by Beifa equally attracted many visitors. Thanks to self-developed APPs used in conjunction with the notebook and smart pen, AITOP can realize the functions of paper-screen synchronization, handwriting playback, handwriting recognition, and even intelligent translation, recording and sharing.
Guangbo Group's booth displayed all kinds of paper products. As a national key enterprise of cultural export, as early as 2013, Guangbo has launched the transformation and upgrading of its products, from "traditional stationery" to "boutique, cultural, and creative".
According to Qian Bing, the Design Director of Meibo, behind each novelty exhibit, the company is supporting a whole process service. For example, the digital oil painting series are actually high-precision, large-scale and centralized processing products. "The company should not only have a personalized portrait of the end customer, but also make a personalized distinction between agents in order to provide more targeted services."
From selling products to selling services, as a response to the intensified global integration of the cultural and creative industries, and the trend of enterprise specialization and integration, many stationery companies in Ningbo also further development by integrating the supply chain. Beifa Group currently occupies 16.5% of China's pen export market share, and its products have been sold to nearly 200 countries and regions around the world.
