The four-day “Sweet Date on the Bite: A Taste of Zhejiang and CEEC-Culinary Culture Exchange” event is scheduled to take place in Ningbo Old Bund (Laowaitan) on May 15, giving Ningbo citizens a chance to experience the cultural and culinary exchange of Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC). CEE delicacies like Serbian sausages, Croatian pancakes, Slovakian roasted pork, and Bulgarian yogurt will be back after a two-year absence.

    从今天起，为期四天的“舌尖上的相遇—中东欧美食与‘味美浙江·百县千碗’人文交流活动”将在宁波老外滩举行，为宁波市民上演一场中东欧美食与文化的碰撞交流。斯洛伐克的烤猪肉、塞尔维亚的香肠、克罗地亚的煎饼、保加利亚的酸奶……时隔两年，这些宁波人熟悉的中东欧美食又“回归”了！

    On May 16, the third China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Expo and International Consumer Goods Fair (hereinafter referred to as the Expo), as well as the twenty-fourth Zhejiang Investment and Trade Symposium will kick off in Ningbo city, Zhejiang province. In addition to hosting the “Sweet Date on the Bite: A Taste of Zhejiang and CEEC  -Culinary Culture Exchange”event during the Expo, Jiangbei District – a facilitating zone for cultural exchanges between CEEC and Ningbo – will also actively promote the implementation of related projects in CEE, showcasing Ningbo and CEE countries’ distinctive cuisine, commodities, tourism, culture, and customs.

    As a significant international cultural exchange, the event features ten sections, including the “A Taste of Zhejiang and CEEC-Culinary Culture Exchange”, CEE commodities and cuisine, a one-hundred people long table banquet, a tea culture exhibition, the CEE e-sports youth player exchange competition, the CEE humanities and arts exhibition, and the opening ceremony of CEE projects. Through CEEC-related projects, Ningbo strives to foster a positive climate for collaborations and cultural exchanges with CEEC, advancing the construction of Ningbo Old Bund National Pedestrian Street, and modern coastal metropolis.

    作为中东欧博览会的一项重要国际人文交流活动，该活动将通过“百县千碗”、中东欧商品美食、百人长桌宴、茶文化展、中东欧电竞青年玩家交流赛、中东欧人文艺术主题展、中东欧项目开业揭牌等10项内容，充分展示宁波与中东欧国家的特色美食、商品、旅游及人文风情，积极推动中东欧项目建设，努力营造浓郁的中东欧合作氛围，增进与中东欧国家之间的文化交流，推动宁波老外滩国家级步行街创建工作，为加快建设现代化滨海大都市贡献力量。

    During the event, exquisite dishes and delectable snacks branded with Ningbo Top Hundred Dishes will take center stage at the renowned Ningbo Food Hall. They are Rice Cake with Simmered Chinese Cabbage, Three Delicacies of Qiantong Tofu, Salt Baked Taros, Xiangshan Fish Balls, Pan-Fried Tofu Rolls Stuffed with Yellow Croaker, Glutinous Rice Balls in Fermented Rice Wine, Golden Rice Balls, Sugar Dough Chunk, and Glutinous Rice Balls with Sesame and Seaweed, to name but a few. The long table banquet is ready to further delight guests with Salt Baked Freshwater Shrimps, Razor Clams Steamed in Bamboo Tube, Roast Hairtail with Preserved Vegetable, Braised Eel, and Pan-Fried Tofu Rolls Stuffed with Yellow Croaker. These are some of the highlights from a host of available dishes.

    在为期4天的活动里，烤菜年糕、前童三宝、盐烤洋芋艿、象山鱼圆、腐皮包黄鱼、酒酿圆子、龙凤金团、宁式糖糕、苔菜小麻球等等“甬菜百碗”特色名菜和小吃也将惊艳亮相宁波美食馆。长桌宴上还将迎来盐烤江白虾、竹筒倒笃蛏、干菜烤带鱼、锅烧河鳗、腐皮包黄鱼等。

    Apart from Liangzhu, the famed Chinese symphony, Ningbo Symphony Orchestra will serenade visitors with iconic tunes from CEE countries like Hungary and Poland.

    同时，宁波交响乐团还将带来匈牙利、波兰等中东欧名曲，与宁波的梁祝交相辉映，为市民带来一场“五感盛宴”！
