    Academic exchange plays an important role in the globalization of our city. If you are an international student intending to study in Ningbo, here's a guide on applying for a resident permit.

    First, head to your local entry-exit administrative department. Bring your valid passport and visa, as well as the original and photocopy of your Registration Form of Temporary Residence. Then, complete the Visa/Stay Permit/Residence Permit Application Form. Applicants must have their ID photo taken at the entry- exit administrative department.

    Applicants should also submit a health certificate issued by the Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau within 6 months (exempt for those under 18 or over 70), along with a registration certificate of the school in which you are enrolled, Form JW201 or JW202, and your Matriculation Notice.

    "International students applying for 'off-campus internship' must submit the internship approval letter issued by the school and the internship approval letter issued by their employer," said a representative of the Entry and Exit Administration of the Ningbo Municipal Public Security Bureau.

    It should be noted that the initial application of anyone between the ages of 16 and 60 must be submitted in person at the local entry-exit administrative department. Those under 16 must also submit their guardian's valid identity documents and the original notarized certificate of guardianship issued by the Ningbo Notary Public Office.
