    After Jingzhe ("Awakening of Insects"), the third of China's twenty-four solar terms, the temperature will rise gradually. In downtown Ningbo, there are many places to enjoy the sight of blooming flowers and discover the beauty of spring.

    Sakura Park is an urban park covering an area of 3.4 hectares in Yinzhou District. Although the cherry blossoms are not in full bloom yet, buds are already forming atop the branches. According to a staff member of Sakura Park, the flowering period is usually from mid-March to May. The trees are neatly planted along the path on Houtang River's shore; their small pink flowers, with pale petals and reddish stamens, herald the start of spring. The Park is an ideal place to immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of the season. To reach Sakura Park, take bus No.103, No.108 or No.503. Alternately, take Metro Line 1 to Sakura Park station.

    Another place to enjoy cherry blossoms is Ningbo Botanical Garden. There are more than eighty species of cherry blossoms with different flowering periods in the garden, so that visitors can appreciate the view from March to early April. The Botanical Garden will soon launch nighttime tours; visitors will be able to view cherry blossoms at night, illuminated by multi-colored lights. 

    The Ningbo Botanical Garden's opening time is 6:30 -17:00, and a 20 -yuan ticket is needed for entry. Special bus lines No.2 and No.3 were launched on March 6, connecting the Botanical Garden with Heyi Ave and Zhaobaoshan respectively. The lines will operate on weekends and holidays until May 30. 

    At Yinzhou Park, tulips in full bloom have been planted along the shores of the lake. The tulips here are mainly red, yellow and orange, forming a colorful background for visitors to take photos. Many citizens like to jog or enjoy a leisurely stroll with friends and family along the well-maintained paths. Southern Business District station of Metro Line 3 is the closest to Yinzhou Park. 

    There is also Academician Park not far from Yinzhou Park. The tulips varieties planted here are mainly white, pink, and orange. There are statues of academicians in the park, which is surrounded by multiple university campuses. Take bus No.21 or No.635 to reach Academician Park.
