    As summer bears down, people are grappling with the relentless blazing sun, with temperatures reaching over 30 degrees. How to stay cool during a summer heat wave? Here are some recommendations to enjoy the coolness.

    Go Cool Camping

    Recently, the 2023 Fenghua Shanglianggang Cool Camping Festival was launched. More than 1,000 visitors from local and nearby cities went into the lush mountains and forests of Shanglianggang to play games, visit the market, and enjoy the coolness.

    The main peak of Shanglianggang mountain is 1,080 metres above sea level, the first peak of Fenghua, with dense forests and beautiful scenery. The scenic area is more than 800 metres above sea level, and the average temperature in summer is only 23 degrees Celsius, which is a famous summer resort in east Zhejiang.

    "During this year's cool camping festival, we have launched some activities such as a forest concert, open-air cinema, wet party and lottery, attracting many tourists." Wang Linbin, head of scenic area operations, said. According to Wang, guests are not only from Ningbo but also from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shaoxing and other places. Soon the guest rooms are all full, and dozens of tents have also been booked.

    As night fell, the lights of the camping tents were lit up and the aroma of barbecue meat filled the air. Everyone gathered around the campfire, sang and danced, feeling the beauty of the mountains.

    Ms Shao, a tourist from Shanghai, planned to stay in the mountains for two days with her children. During the day, they would go down the mountain to visit the ancient village of Xikou, and at night, she went back to camps to watch the stars.

    The cool camping festival will last until the end of August.

    "Shanglianggang spends a lot of effort on renovating and upgrading the scenic area's traffic and facilities, and launches a series of special activities, which is committed to creating a micro-holiday destination in Ningbo's summer vacation and boosting the summer tourism economy," Wang Linbin said.

    Fun in Coastal Vacation

    Recently, in Qiangjiao Town, Ninghai County, many people travelled to Ninghai Bay with their families to enjoy a relaxing summer time in the sea waves.

    Hengshan Island of Ninghai Bay is one of the most popular attractions for tourists, either playing in the water and surfing or shooting the sunrise and sunset.

    "Business has been very brisk during the summer holidays, and we've been at full capacity since July," said the owner of a B&B on Hengshan Island. The B&B launched a summer theme tour, providing large rooms with sea views, seafood, beach volleyball competition, and open-air swimming pools, attracting many tourists to come.

    In Qiangjiao Town, the arrival of the summer season makes the number of tourists increase significantly, and businesses like B&B, catering, and leisure fishing boats become very hot.

    To enrich the tourists' experience, Qiangjiao Town continues to develop new kinds of infrastructure facilities, and actively launch coastal-themed tourism routes to attract more tourists, driving local villagers to increase their income.

    Experience Stream Tracing

    In a canyon in Xikou Town, Fenghua District, the Mingxi stream has gone viral among citizens, and many tourists drive down from downtown to enjoy the coolness of summer. Mingxi meanders around, creating beautiful scenery along the way.

    Banzhu Village welcomed tourists one after another to start water play in the morning. A child who came to play with his parents said that this was the first time he followed his family to the mountains during the summer vacation, "The water here is not deep, we can row, catch fish, play in the water, it is cool to play here."

    Coolness is an important factor that makes this stream sought after by the public. It's friendly to outdoor novices as well as people young and old. Especially the tall, dense trees on both sides keep the summer heat out.

    Some tourists, barefoot and stepping on pebbles, set up small tables to play chess in the creek, while others hid under the big trees to cool off and put their fruits in the creek.

    Mingxi stream flows slowly through the mountain gorge, connecting several villages upstream. Small fish could be seen swimming about in the stream. The bottom of the water is dotted with rocks of different sizes, and the sunlight shines on the rocks, making them sparkling.

    Shenggang Village is also popular among tourists. Most of the houses in the village are built along the stream, surrounded by mountains and greenery. Ancient bridges and century-old trees provide a natural sunshade. The half-moon-shaped shallow beach attracts many tourists come to play.
