Two Ningbo Athletes to Compete at the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics

The Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics will be held from March 4th to 13th. Wang Xinyu and Yang Jian – the first Ningbo athletes who have qualified for the Winter Paralympics – will compete for Team China in snowboarding. The following are briefings on the two athletes.
Yang, born in June 1993, has congenital loss of the left forearm. He was a silver medalist in the Asian Cup of Para-Snowboarding, won third place in test events of Snowboard Cross at the Paralympics (Asian Cup) in 2020 and placed sixth in the events of Snowboard Slope Slalom and Snowboard Cross at the 11th National Paralympics in 2021.
Wang, born in August 2001, had her left lower leg amputated at the age of 6 due to an accident. On February 25th 2019, she won a gold medal in the Snowboard Slope Slalom at the National Paralympics, the first gold won by Zhejiang athletes in the adult ice and snow competition of the national comprehensive games.
