A Polish Trade Representative's Experience at the China-CEEC Expo

2021 marks the seventh year that Dr. Andrzej Juchniewicz, Chief Representative of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in China, has participated in Ningbo's annual CEE trade events.
In 2014, Juchniewicz organized a delegation of more than 30 Polish enterprises to attend the first CEE specialty products fair at the Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center, where 200 booths representing 180 enterprises from Central and Eastern Europe displayed their unique regional goods.
As early as 2014, Ningbo was keenly aware that if Zhejiang wanted to contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative, partnership with CEE countries would be the breakthrough.
The trip to Ningbo impressed Juchniewicz greatly. Partly due to his efforts, Polish amber, beeswax, milk, chocolate, biscuits, and other foods began gaining popularity with Ningbo citizens and gradually found a consumer base on the Chinese market.
This year, the China-CEEC Expo had 3,003 booths.
To mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on SMEs around the world, Ningbo is actively fostering a transnational cooperation and exchange platform, which has helped Polish goods expand their distribution channels in China.
Last October, the first CR Express train carrying Polish dairy products arrived in Wuhan, Hubei. This first-ever China-Europe "milk train" was laden with 50 containers with 16,770 units of milk and dairy products, weighing about 1,100 tons. It was none other than Juchniewicz who organized the shipment.
According to Juchniewicz, the main objective of Polish exhibitors is to find long-term partners as well as national and regional sales agents and distributors in China.
More Polish products, following the initial success of Polish amber and dairy, are making headway in the Chinese market. "Since 2019, we have been promoting a range of Polish cosmetics in China. At the China-CEEC Expo this year, we also brought Polish goose down quilts, made by one of the largest textile companies in Poland," Juchniewicz said.
